Biography
Melissa A. Kirwin, MPH, is the Director of Business Development and Communications with the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) in the Partnerships and Development division. She has extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative public health research and has worked in public health policy/program analysis and development in the United States and across Southeast Asia in the areas of maternal and child health, innovative vaccination delivery, and patient engagement. She has experience working with a global non-profit think tank and has worked for more than five years with a Singapore-based maternal and infant health advocacy organization, providing counselling for mothers, and facilitating prenatal education classes to improve health outcomes during the antenatal and postpartum period. Prior to transitioning to the public health sector, she spent more than ten years in the financial services private sector, developing and implementing corporate strategies and managing large-scale programs related to business efficiencies, client experience, and communications and marketing. During this time, she also led the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy for a 10k+ person organization, supporting awareness/education, talent retention and hiring practices to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace. Kirwin received her Master's in Public Health from the George Washington University and her Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
