Biography

Brian Jackson received his BA (mathematics), MD, and MS (Medical Informatics) degrees at the University of Utah. He completed residency in Clinical Pathology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, followed by a position at a Belgian medical software startup, and later a National Library of Medicine Fellowship in medical informatics. He is current associate professor of pathology, and adjunct associate professor of biomedical informatics, at the University of Utah, where he is also medical director for support services, IT, and business development at ARUP Laboratories. His research focus includes information privacy and ethical business models in biomedical industry.
